Academy History

2011– Pollok United Soccer Academy, a registered charity was established when three boys teams came together.

At this time an unusable red blaze pitch was identified in Corkerhill as a potential home for an expanding academy.

Funding opportunities found through:

Govan & Craigton Area Committee, Greater Pollok Area Committee, Cash Back for Communities Sport Scotland, GHA Environmental Funds, GHA Wider Action Funds, Network Rail, OSEG, Scottish Football Partnership plus local fundraising coordinated by the academy.

2013– August, Dennis Donnelly Park opened for Academy and community use.


2016– 300 boys and girls in 15 different teams 50 qualified volunteer coaches. Further 50 volunteers supporting the project (treasurer, strip washers, transportation, child protection etc)

Ladies Team, Over 35’s, Under 21’s, Disability Inclusive, Glasgow Clyde student placement programme.

Awarded SFA Community Club status.
